Wayne McKnight

Wayne McKnight, Canadian-Norwegian dancer, choreographer and director. His debut as an actor in Canada in 1966, came to Norway in 1968 as a dancer with the Norwegian National Ballet, from 1971 soloist and choreographer. Freelance since 1973, also in cabaret and musical productions in Canada, Sweden and Norway.

Wayne was Baayork Lee's assistant for the acclaimed Stockholm production of A Chorus Line in 1979. His debut as a director in 1986 with The Fantasticks at Theatre Ibsen in Norway. Mr. Mcknight has later been mainly associated Oslo New Theatre as choreographer and director, where he particularly made ??his mark with style ensure productions of classic American musicals like Guys and Dolls, Oklahoma, Pal Joey, My Fair Lady and Anything Goes. He co-wrote and directed/choreographed the hugely successful 1988 production of the musical version of The Jungle Book which has been revived and performed in countless productions throughout Scandinavia.
Wayne and his team were awarded the Chaplin Prize for Best Television Comedy at the prestigious Montreux Television Festival in Switzerland in 1986

In addition to co-directing/choreographing several revues including at the Chat Noir, he has also worked as a choreographer for NRK television, Norwegian National Ballet and Carte Blanche and Oslo Dance Ensemble.
