Full casting has been announced for Pride Films and Plays' Chicago Premiere of CASA VALENTINA, by Harvey Fierstein, one of the giants of gay writing and stagecraft of our time. CASA VALENTINA, which premiered on Broadway in 2014, was nominated for that season's Tony Award® for Best Play. Pride Films and Plays Artistic Associate Michael D. Graham will direct.

Spinning Tree Theatre proudly produces the Kansas City premiere of Harvey Fierstein's CASA VALENTINA October 27 November 12. Four-time Tony Award winner Fierstein (Kinky Boots, Newsies, La Cage aux Folles, Torch Song Trilogy) based his 2014 play on actual events.

The Pasadena Playhouse presents the West Coast Premiere of CASA VALENTINA by four-time Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein, the iconic playwright of the Broadway hits Torch Song Trilogy, La Cage Aux Folles, Newsies and Kinky Boots. Harvey Fierstein's Casa Valentina won a deserved four Tony nominations in 2014 when it played on Broadway. This is a fine example of an unusual play, one of surprising depth, that goes out of its way to hit a nerve or two. Although comical, Casa Valentina is a drama at the core, with some shades of kitchen-sink reality. The producers of Casa Valentina today announce a gala for Stonewall which campaigns for the equality of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people across Britain. The gala will be on the evening of Thursday 24th September and will be hosted by Anthony Davis from Smooth Radio. After the performance, there will be a Q&A with Ayaz Manj and Peter Mercer from Stonewall along with the cast and producers. Casa Valentina is set in 1962 in the picturesque Catskills mountains of New York where a group of heterosexual men escape from the City to spend their weekend dressed as women. Included in the price of each ticket to the gala performance will be a donation to support the charitable works of Stonewall.

The European premiere of Harvey Fierstein's Casa Valentina opens at the Southwark Playhouse as his Broadway hit Kinky Boots, with music and lyrics by Cyndi Lauper, opens at the Adelphi Theatre.
