The new play Fritz & Matlock, which opened to rave reviews at The Pleasance Downstairs this month, has received two Offies nominations for Lead Performance in a Play : James Wallwork & Salvatore D'Aquilla and Most Promising New Playwrights: James Wallwork & Salvatore D'Aquilla.

Rehearsal shots have been released for new dark comedy Fritz and Matlock written and performed by long-time collaborators James Wallwork (BBC, Film4) and Salvatore D’Aquilla (War Horse, BBC) opening at The Pleasance Downstairs this October 5-17. The show is directed by Jessica Millward and produced by Olivia Munk of Part of the Main Productions.

Wallwork, who is based in London, and D'Aquilla, who lives in Sheffield, wrote the play over Zoom during the COVID-19 lockdown. Fritz & Matlock is set in the basement of an inner city Sheffield house. Carl Fritz (D'Aquilla) and Barry Matlock (Wallwork) try to bury the bodies of their past and find their way to a more hopeful future.

Following its critically acclaimed run at the Brits Off Broadway Festival, the much-applauded British production of Operation Crucible premieres in New York City at The Davenport Theatre, 354 W. 45th Street, October 31, 2018 and running through December 23, 2018 at Tues-Sat - 8pm; Sat & Sun 2:30pm and 7pm.

The 2018 Brits Off Broadway season continues at 59E59 Theaters(Val Day, Artistic Director; Brian Beirne, Managing Director) with the US premiere of OPERATION CRUCIBLE, written by Kieran Knowles and directed by Bryony Shanahan. Produced by McGill Productions Ltd, From Ground Up Theatre, and The Hartshorn - Hook Foundation, OPERATION CRUCIBLE begins performances on Tuesday, May 8 for a limited engagement through Sunday, June 3.Press Opening is Tuesday, May 15 at 7:15 PM. Folie a deux Productions and From Ground Up Theatre Company in association with Sheffield Theatres today announce the full cast for Kieran Knowles' Operation Crucible.

Commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Sheffield Blitz, and the 70th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, Operation Crucible, the debut play by Kieran Knowles, opens for a four week limited season at the Finborough Theatre from Tuesday 28 July - Saturday 22 August.

Folie a deux Productions and From Ground Up Theatre Company in association with Neil McPherson for the Finborough Theatre present the world premiere of OPERATION CRUCIBLE by Kieran Knowles. Directed by Bryony Shanahan, the cast includes Salvatore D'Aquilla, Kieran Knowles, Joshua Mayes-Cooper, and Paul Tinto. The National Theatre's award-winning production of War Horse is currently playing the New London Theatre, and will egin a full UK tour in Fall 2013, according to The Stage. While official tour dates and venues have not yet been confirmed, executive director Nick Starr revealed that in addition to the West End, Broaway, and upcoming Toronto production, there are also plans to open in Australia, Japan, and South Africa.

Today, 6 June, the National Theatre's award-winning production of War Horse at the New London Theatre will release over 290,000 new tickets for sale, taking bookings up to 20 October 2012.
