McCarter Theatre Center Announces BULRUSHER Coming May 2023

McCarter Theatre Center Receives NEA Grant for New Play Development


McCarter Theatre Center is a recipient of an Art Works grant of $35,000 to aupport the McCarter LAB, a year-round creative incubator that provides key support to writers at all stages of their careers, cultivating meaningful artistic relationships and original works for McCarter's main stages and future co-productions. The Hermitage Artist Retreat is pleased to announce that its coveted Greenfield Prize Commission, play BATHING IN MOONLIGHT by Nilo Cruz, is set to premiere in Princeton, NJ this fall at McCarter Theatre Center's Roger S. Berlind Theatre. The 2014 Greenfield Prize in drama is a $30,000 commission in exchange for a new work to be presented within two years.

Broadway's Debbie Bisno Named Resident Producer of McCarter Theatre


McCarter Theatre Center's Resident Playwright/Artistic Director Emily Mann and Managing Director Timothy J. Shields have announced Debbie Bisno as the theatre's new Resident Producer. Ms. Bisno, a Broadway producer with two decades in the commercial and non-profit theatrical arenas, assumes her new leadership role immediately. Ms. Bisno will be based in Princeton as an important member of the artistic team at McCarter, and she will maintain and expand McCarter's relationships in NY, regionally, and abroad. Her existing company, Bisno Productions, will continue operations in Manhattan.

DTC Welcomes Jeffrey Woodward as New Managing Director


The Dallas Theater Center Board of Trustees announced today the appointment of Jeffrey Woodward as managing director of the 56-year-old organization. Woodward's experience includes Syracuse Stage and 17 years at McCarter Theatre Center. The appointment follows the departure of Heather M. Kitchen, who announced her retirement in September 2014. Woodward will formally assume his post in mid-July.
