From Earth to Heaven by composer Craig Courtney will make its world premiere in this program via 158 local students in grades 6-12.

The CSO's Happy Hour concerts offer free, informal, after-work concerts performed preceded by complimentary appetizers, a DJ in the theatre lobby, and a cash bar. Led by CSO Associate Conductor Peter Stafford Wilson, Dance Rhythms will feature Granville-based, 14-year-old guest pianist Gavin George who will explore the music of another young talent, Felix Mendelssohn, who wrote the G Minor Piano Concerto at barely 20 years of age.
Conducted by CSO Associate Conductor Peter Stafford Wilson, this all-Beethoven evening offers not only an orchestral concert bookended by two exciting symphonies, but also three additional events to enrich the audience's experience-chamber music performances before and after the concert as well as an illuminating, pre-concert lecture. The chamber recitals and the ingenious "Triple" concerto will showcase the talent of the CSO's own-Alicia Hui, violin; Luis Biava, cello; and Caroline Hong, piano.

Designed by CSO Music Director Rossen Milanov, these budget-friendly concerts feature a single work that is examined bit-by-bit with the CSO playing a few measures at a time. Link Up is a highly participatory program that pairs orchestras across the country with schools in their local communities, inviting students to learn about orchestral repertoire through a year-long, hands-on music curriculum culminating in a live performance in which the students interact from their seats.

The 2014-15 Columbus Symphony Youth Orchestra (CSYO), comprised of 100 students from 35 Ohio school districts, has been selected as one of four US youth orchestras to win a residency with American violinist Lindsay Deutsch through the Classics Alive Foundation. Selection was based on the educational potential for the youth orchestras and the larger community, and will be completely underwritten by the foundation.
