Actor Wendell Pierce has received the distinguished NAACP Image Award Nomination for his starring role in the No Equal Entertainment production of “Don’t Hang Up.” Globally recognized as one of the most distinguished multicultural awards shows, the “54th NAACP Image Awards” will continue a tradition of excellence.

Recently, the term intermission has taken on a new meaning in the theatre community.  While we usually use it as a term to signify a break in a show, we have recently modified it to a break in theatre productions due to COVID19. While we may not be able to gather as a theatre community to sit in a theatre for a show, some theatres are getting creative in how they present shows this summer.  One of them is Des Moines Playhouse.  I attended a dress rehearsal of their socially distanced production of 'Love Letters,' which opens on June 12.

The Board of Directors of Theatre francais de Toronto (TfT), headed by Michael Davenport, announced today that Guy Mignault would retire from his position as artistic director in June 2016 after a term of 19 exceptional years as the head of the company. Indeed, during the meeting that brought together TfT's board as well as the administrative team, Mr. Mignault expressed the wish to leave his post at the dawn of Theatre francais' 50th anniversary:
