Algonquin Theater Productions and Jason Hewitt welcome Lindsay Nicole Chambers (Lysistrata Jones, Legally Blonde, Hairspray), Mel Johnson Jr. (Jekyll & Hyde, Hot Feet, The Lion King, Big Deal, The Rink, Eubie!, On the Twentieth Century), and James Ludwig (Spamalot, Little Shop of Horrors) for the world premiere of ON THE RAILS, a new musical with book by Tony Sportiello (Second Chance, National Pastime), music and lyrics by Al Tapper (Sessions, An Evening at the Carlyle), arrangements and musical direction by David Wolfson, and directed by Misti B. Wills (In Search of Euphoria).

IT SHOULDA BEEN YOU Receives Actors' Equity's Diversity on Broadway Award

Actors' Equity Association today named It Shoulda Been You recipient of the 'Extraordinary Excellence in Diversity on Broadway' Award for the 2014-15 theatrical season. Presented by Equity's National Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Committee, the award honors shows that exemplify and promote the union's founding principles of diversity, inclusion and equal opportunity for all who work in the theatre. Accepting the award on behalf of the It Shoulda Been You producers and creative team was producer Daryl Roth. Also in attendance were cast members Edward Hibbert and Jillian Louis, director David Hyde Pierce, composer Barbara Anselmi, co-lyricist and librettist Brian Hargrove and the production's stage management team: Bess Marie Glorioso, Katherine Shea and Melanie Morgan.

Irish Rep's DA Opens Tonight Off-Broadway

Off-Broadway's award-winning Irish Repertory Theatre presents the third production of its 27th theatre season, a revival of Hugh Leonard's classic memory play, DA. Directed by Charlotte Moore, DA features a cast that includes Sean Gormley, Kristin Griffith, John Keating, Nicola Murphy, Paul O'Brien, Ciaran O'Reilly, Adam Petherbridge and Fiana Toibin. DA began previews on January 14, 2015. The production is scheduled to run through Sunday, March 8, 2015. The Opening Night is scheduled for tonight, January 22nd, 2015.
