Ordway to Present TRAVIS WALL'S SHAPING SOUND: DANCE REIMAGINED, 10/14

The Ordway Center for the Performing Arts has announced that Travis Wall's Shaping Sound: Dance Reimagined, one of North America's hottest new dance shows, will come to the Ordway for a special one-night-only performance on Friday, Oct. 14. Tickets, which are now on sale, start at $38 and can be purchased online at www.ordway.org, by phone at 651-224-4222 or in person at the Ordway ticket office.

The Kennedy Center presents Come Fly Away in the Eisenhower Theater from April 18-29, 2012. Conceived, choreographed, and directed by Tony Award¬ģ winner and Kennedy Center Honoree Twyla Tharp (Movin' Out) and by special arrangement with the Frank Sinatra Family and Frank Sinatra Enterprises, Come Fly Away blends the legendary vocals of Frank Sinatra with a live on-stage big band and 14 of the world's finest dancers. The show's score combines classic and newly discovered vocal performances from the Sinatra archives, along with Sinatra's signature arrangements by Nelson Riddle, Billy May and Quincy Jones, among others, and brand new charts, for this fresh innovative musical. Press night will take place on Wednesday, April 18 at 7:30 p.m.

Michael Sterling, co-producer and Los Angeles correspondent for Broadway World TV, along with Associate Producer Jerry Evans of the JLE Media Group, Inc. covered the evening's festivities. The star-studded guest list included many of the late Sinatra's celebrity friends and family members. After attending the performance, Sterling said 'In short, the show is an intoxicating marriage of pure harmony and wedded bliss.'

She's one of the world's most renown, ubiquitous choreographers, and her unmistakable stamp can be found leaping all throughout COME FLY AWAY, a superb new dance-centric musical stage show now playing its Los Angeles premiere at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood for a two-week engagement through November 6. Conceived, directed and, of course, choreographed by the Tony Award-winner, this new shortened touring version of the acclaimed Broadway production features not only the brilliance of Tharp's dance art but also the well-known songbook and the inimitable original vocals of Frank Sinatra.

The show played 31 previews and 33 regular performances. WONDERLAND began previews Monday, March 21 and opened Sunday, April 17. The production will play a National tour. As we first reported earlier, at the curtain call the show's love story mixed with real life, as Darren Ritchie, who played Jack the White Knight proposed to his co-star, Janet Dacal, who played Alice. Darren proposed to Janet on stage right after the curtain call with the entire audience in the house. Janet screamed 'I said yes!' In the audience, there were tears of joy mixed with the sadness for the show closing. Now, the first videos are making their way onto YouTube!
