Mixed Blood Theatre presents the World Premiere of ANIMATE by Ken LaZebnik, performed at Como Park Zoo and Conservatory, September 17-26, 2021.

Recognizing auto design as a great American art form, the disappearance of car cruising as spectator sport, and the growth of autonomous vehicles, Mixed Blood presents AUTONOMY in which auto enthusiasts, theater aficionados, and climate change activists will be transformed. Intimate groups depart every ten minutes for two hours, winding through the snaking path of this environmental thriller, hearing the scenes through ear buds, and getting a tour through Detroit and Silicon Valley as they whiz through this car-based play which foreshadows the most seismic change in transportation history, that may just solve the global climate crisis.

Mixed Blood Theatre is pleased to announce its 2018-19 Season, Transforming the Impossible to the Probable. Speaking truth to power and upending the status quo through theater via provocative programming in which comedy, drama, satire, and extravaganza take on Me Too, automation, Black Lives Matter, abortion, climate change, gender identity, NFL player protests, and, throughout everything, race. The season will put on display Mixed Blood's core value to be predictably unpredictable.

High school students across the state are invited to submit a one-act play to be juried in the 22nd Annual Young Playwrights Festival (YPF), a collaboration between Wharton Center Institute for Arts & Creativity and MSU Department of Theatre.

The 2014-15 season of Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park's popular Off the Hill series for families continues with THEORY OF MIND by Ken LaZebnik. A sensitive, unsentimental portrait of relationships, it tells the story of Bill, a teenager who happens to live on the autism spectrum. Recommended for ages 11 and up, THEORY OF MIND will tour to community venues throughout the Tristate from tonight, Jan. 23 through Feb. 22. It will also be performed at Music Hall on Sunday, March 8, as part of Macy's Arts Sampler.

Ken LaZebnik's west coast premiere play On the Spectrum at the Fountain Theatre is a life-affirming work that explores the power of love between two autistic people, and the repercussions on those around them. Thanks to LaZebnik, a trio of fine actors and splendid direction from Jacqueline Schultz, we make contact with a drastically different world, experiencing what may surely change the way we think and live. Mixed Blood Theatre's Center of the Margins, exploring the complex world of disability, returns this season as a mini-festival with three staged readings running in rep with fully-mounted productions of NEXT TO NORMAL, THEORY OF MIND, COLOSSAL, A NERVOUS SMILE, and CYRANO on stage Saturday and Sunday, October 20th through 21st and Saturday and Sunday, October 27th through 28th.
