Signature Theatre has announced the cast and creative team for RENT, book, music and lyrics by Jonathan Larson, which will reopen Signature's MAX Theatre for live performances from November 2, 2021 – January 2, 2022. 

Maestro LUKE FRAZIER and THE AMERICAN POPS ORCHESTRA - Washington, DC's innovative hometown orchestra - has announced the winners of their first annual vocal competition, "NextGen: Finding The Voices of Tomorrow." The First Place female winner is Nia Savoy (Howard University) and the First Place male winner is Evan LaChance (The Catholic University of America).

Maestro LUKE FRAZIER and THE AMERICAN POPS ORCHESTRA - Washington, DC's innovative hometown orchestra - has teamed up with Washington, DC chapter of The National Society of Arts and Letters for their first annual vocal competition, "NextGen: Finding The Voices of Tomorrow."  The final round audition will take place on Friday, March 23 at 8:00 PM in Washington, DC at Arena Stage in The Kreeger Theater. Judges for competition will include Baayork Lee (Tony winning Broadway Legend), Jim Caruso (Birdland Jazz Club), Kelly d'Amboise (Signature Theater and APO Resident Director), and Robert Pullen (Emmy-nominated Producer and owner of Nouveau Productions). Signature Theatre presents The Gershwins' & Ken Ludwig's musical comedy Crazy For You. This new production is directed by Signature Theatre's Associate Artistic Director Matthew Gardiner (Signature's West Side Story, La Cage Aux Folles) with choreography by Tony Award nominee Denis Jones (Broadway's Holiday Inn, Honeymoon in Vegas). Crazy for You will run from tonight, November 7, 2017, through January 14, 2018 in Signature Theatre's MAX Theatre.

This new production will be directed by Signature Theatre's Associate Artistic Director Matthew Gardiner (Signature's West Side Story, La Cage Aux Folles) with choreography by Tony Award nominee Denis Jones (Broadway's Holiday Inn, Honeymoon in Vegas). Luke Frazier and The American Pops Orchestra , Washington, DC's innovative hometown orchestra, will open their all-star 2016-2017 season with I'll Be Seeing You: A World War II Love Story on Veterans Day, Friday, November 11th.  The show stars  stars Broadway and TV favorite Ron Raines, as well as Florence Lacey, Claybourne Elder, and Rachel Eskenazi-Gold. 

Maestro LUKE FRAZIER and THE AMERICAN POPS ORCHESTRA - Washington, DC's innovative hometown orchestra - hosted the closing concert of their successful inaugural season. Make Someone Happy: A 60s Cocktail Party at the George Washington University's Lisner Auditorium on Friday, May 6th. Special guests included theater and screen stars Erik Altemus (Pippin on Broadway), Nova Y. Payton (Helen Hayes Award winner for Hairspray), Nicholas Rodriquez ('One Life to Live' on ABC-TV, Helen Hayes Award winner) and Hayley Travers (Children of Eden at the Kennedy Center), in addition to dancers, choreography and full costumes. Imagination Stage's Musical Theatre Conservatory will perform You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, a musical based on the classic "Peanuts" comic strip by Charles Schulz, May 20-22, 2016 in the Christopher and Dana Reeve Theatre. You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown's book, music, and lyrics are written by Clark Gesner, with additional dialogue by Michael Mayer, and additional music by Andrew Lippa.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts hosts more than 150 outstanding theater students from colleges and universities across the nation as part of the 48th annual Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF), which runs April 12-16, 2016 in multiple locations throughout the Center. Thousands of student artists from eight regions across the country presented their work at regional festivals from January 5 through February 27, 2016 and more than 150 were selected to travel to the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., for an all-expenses-paid trip to participate in the national festival.
