For the first time ever, the complete Vince Guaraldi soundtrack to It Was a Short Summer, Charlie Brown will be released in celebration of its 55th anniversary. The album includes the original recordings that comprise the song cues of the Special, plus another six bonus or alternative tracks that have never been released or heard before.

Lee Mendelson Film Productions (LMFP) will release - for the first time ever – the complete Vince Guaraldi soundtrack to It Was a Short Summer, Charlie Brown, the timeless 6th animated Peanuts special, from writer and creator Charles Schulz, director Bill Melendez and producers Melendez and Lee Mendelson.

Remastered from newly discovered analog session reels, the album features seven previously unreleased alternate takes. The package also includes new liner notes by PEANUTS® historian Derrick Bang, with contributions by the family of Lee Mendelson, the Emmy® and Peabody Award-winning producer and co-creator of the PEANUTS® animated specials.

By the time that Vince Guaraldi entered the studio to score It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, he was well into a highly successful creative partnership with Lee Mendelson and the PEANUTS franchise.

On the eve of Vince Guaraldi being honored with theAmerican Eagle Award by the National Music Council, Craft Recordings is celebratingGuaraldi's 91st birthday by announcing the first-ever vinyl release of his iconic music for It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. The debut vinyl release for this time-honored soundtrack will be available August 30th via Craft Recordings. Featuring music by GRAMMY®-winning composer/performer Vince Guaraldi, the package includes the iconic pumpkin as an etching on side B. The album also includes an introduction from the TV special's executive producer Lee Mendelson and insightful liner notes by Derrick Bang, Peanuts historian and author of Vince Guaraldi at the Piano.
