John Randolph Jones has won several prestigious awards throughout his career. He received the 1992 Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Director of a Resident Play for his work on the production of Zooman and the Sign. Additionally, he won the 1992 Black Theatre Alliance Award for Best Director for the same production. Jones was honored with the 1985 Los Angeles Dramalogue Award for Best Director for Don’t Bother Me, I Can’t Cope. He also earned a mention in the 2013 Broadway World Awards for Best Director of a Play for the production of 'A Raisin in the Sun.' His work has been recognized with a nomination for the New York Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Director of a Musical for 'The Chosen.'
