The Sacred Fools Theater Company is continuing its REPRISE series of streaming “enhanced” readings or performances of previous  productions. Next up is “Watson,” written and directed by Jaime Robledo (originally presented onstage in Sacred Fools' Season 14, in late 2010), which will be available via YouTube Live on Thursday, January 14 at 5pm PST/8pm EST.

It would not be the Halloween Season in L.A. without WICKED LIT, presented by Unbound Productions Executive Director Jonathan Josephson, Artistic Director Paul Millet, and Producing Artistic Director Jeff G. Rack. The company's 7th annual immersive theatre event takes place inside and on the grounds at Mountain View Mausoleum and Cemetery in Altadena, California, running from October 2-November 14, 2015. The mission of Unbound Production is to re-imagine timeless stories for new audiences by creating immersive, theatrical adaptations of literature. And, I think, to put the fright back into Halloween!

OZ 2.5, a world premiere by Catherine Trieschmann, wraps up the Theatre for Young Audiences season at South Coast Repertory, May 22-June 7, on the Julianne Argyros stage. MainStreet Theatre Company is delighted to announce their first show of the 2014/2015 season: the west coast premiere of Stiles and Drewe's The Three Little Pigs. Jessica Kubzansky is the Director, with Musical Direction by Janice Rodgers Wainwright, and Choreography by John Pennington. The production opens to the public today, October 4th at 4pm. The strictly limited engagement will run through Sunday, October 19th only.

Vanessa Claire Stewart's Stoneface, the Rise and Fall and Rise of Buster Keaton, first produced at Sacred Fools Theatre Company in 2012, finds fresh life in a newly remounted production simply titled STONEFACE at Pasadena Playhouse. With a bigger budget, more space in which to play, and clearly enhanced with an eye to continuing its life beyond Los Angeles, it should be set for a rousing success.

The Pasadena Playhouse, announced today the full cast of Vanessa Claire Stewart's STONEFACE, the fifth production of the 2013-2014 season. STONEFACE is performed June 3 to 29, 2014; the press opening is Sunday, June 8.

The LA Phil marks the 10th anniversary date of the opening of Walt Disney Concert Hall with a special Green Umbrella program presenting the world premiere of 200 Motels by L.A.'s groundbreaking iconoclast composer Frank Zappa. Conductor Laureate Esa-Pekka Salonen leads the LA Phil, and is joined by L.A.-based director James Darrah and the Los Angeles Master Chorale. Also joining Salonen and the LA Phil is a cast of renowned soloists and a band that includes Ian Underwood of Zappa's The Mothers of Invention, Scott Thunes, who also played with Frank Zappa, Zappa Family Trust 'Vaultmeister' Joe Travers, and Jamie Kime of Zappa Plays Zappa.

The Theatre @ Boston Court and Furious Theatre Company present 'The Government Inspector," a World Premiere adaptation of Nikolai Gogol's "The Government Inspector" adapted by, and original songs by Oded Gross, directed by Stefan Novinksi. The play opens July 28 on the Main Stage at Boston Court Performing Arts Center, 70 North Mentor Avenue.

Vanessa Claire Stewart's world premiere homage to silent screen legend Buster Keaton Stoneface succeeds on many levels, first and foremost of which is its brilliant recreation of silent movies by cast and crew. The execution of gags and physical comedy is tough to pull off; here its click by click precision timing almost defies description.

Sacred Fools' STONEFACE: The Rise and Fall and Rise of Buster Keaton has raced to the top of my list of most recommended shows to see in Los Angeles this summer.
