The 50th Annual Drama Desk Awards Ceremony on Sunday, May 22, hosted by Harvey Fierstein, starring as Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof, will reach one of its largest audiences ever since it will be seen on PBS stations across the nation.

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Drama Desk Awards, the organization has voted to present a special award to The Public Theater, also celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2005, it was announced today by William Wolf, President of the Drama Desk, and Barbara Siegel, Chairperson of its Nominating Committee.

Harvey Fierstein, the multi award-winning comic actor currently winning rave reviews in Fiddler on the Roof on Broadway, will host the 50TH ANNUAL DRAMA DESK AWARDS on Sunday, May 22, 2005 at 9:00 PM, at the LaGuardia Concert Hall at Lincoln Center.
