Emerging theater for young audiences, Rebel Playhouse, is thrilled to announce the cast of its next world premiere production, THE FANTASTICAL DANGEROUS JOURNEY OF Q, written by Ric Averill with music and additional lyrics by Dax Dupuy, directed by Sarah Sutliff, with music direction by Christina Bottley, and co-presented by The Theater at the 14th Street Y. The show tells the story of Q, an upper elementary student struggling with gender and identity issues.

Atlantic for Kids presents the world premiere production of Roald Dahl's James and the Giant Peach, featuring words and music by Benj Pasek & Justin Paul and a book by Timothy Allen McDonald to kick off their season.

A warm and charming comedy from the author of Amadeus and Equus about a flamboyant tour guide consigned to the 'dullest castle in England' who embellishes its history until she is confronted by her fact-conscious boss. Lettice and Lovage is by Peter Shaffer, Directed by Hal Houston, Produced by Booth Muller, Stage Manager Wendy Brinker. Featuring: Sharifa Andrews, Cory Baker, Mony Carpenter, Bronwynn Hopton, Jeff Kemeter, & Jacqueline Salvador. With over 30 shows opening this month on DC area stages, there is a buffet of choices for local theatre goers and visitors to our nation's capital, from a Tom Kitt musical, to a bloody barber pie-filled Sondheim feast, to children's classics adapted for the stage, to American Idol contestants with slicked back hair, to a psycho woman and her schizo sister, to Commedia dell'Arte. The Fall theatre season in the DC area is in full bloom. As the leaves are turning, there is a colorful group of shows opening this month. There are so many, so where do I begin? Here are shows that I am looking forward to seeing, and remember I am a musical theatre lover who likes to sprinkle in a play or two - here and there - so don't get mad if I don't choose one of the plays you are looking forward to seeing.
