Nickelodeon and Masterworks Broadway recently announced that the Broadway-bound The SpongeBob Musical will release a cast album following a successful run at Broadway in Chicago's Oriental Theater.

Tam Mutu, who is making his Broadway debut as the passionate Doctor and poet Yurii Zhivago, Kelli Barrett (Wicked), Tony Award nomineeTom Hewitt (Rocky Horror Show), and Paul Nolan (Jesus Chris Superstar) will be joined by Lora Lee Gayer as Tonia Gromeko, Zhivago's devoted wife, in the new Broadway musical DOCTOR ZHIVAGO. Based on Boris Pasternak's Nobel Prize-winning 20th-century epic Russian masterpiece, DOCTOR ZHIVAGO will feature Jacqueline Antaramian and Jamie Jackson, with Heather Botts, Wendi Bergamini, Melody Butiu, Josh Canfield, Julian Cihi, Briana Carlson-Goodman, Bradley Dean, Michael Brian Dunn, Drew Foster, Kira Guloien, Robert Hager, Ericka Hunter, Denis Lambert, David McDonald, Joseph Medeiros, Pilar Millhollen, Gary Milner, Spencer Moses, Julius Sermonia, Jacob L. Musicals Tonight! the Obie-winning company dedicated to the revival of neglected musicals kicks off its 2013-14 season with a 16-performance run of Cole Porter's Mexican Hayride (October 8 - 20) directed by Thomas Sabella-Mills, with music direction by James Stenborg.

When Rock of Ages stopped in Des Moines for a limited engagement last week, the beat could be heard for blocks and audiences were on their feet before the last number was over.

Red, Hot and Blue, with music and lyrics by Cole Porter, is about a former manicurist ("Nails") Lauren Elaine Taylor, her square boyfriend (Bob) Christopher Ryan, and an ex-con ("Policy") Roger Rifkin. Graham Bailey, Tony Castellanos, Ashley Klanac, Rob Lorey, Megan Meyer, Molly Pope, Jeannie Schubitz, and Jacob L.
