The York Theatre Company presents the Off-Broadway premiere of the new musical revue Anything Can Happen in the Theater: The Musical World of Maury Yeston with music and lyrics by Maury Yeston. Directed and conceived by Tony Award winner Gerard Alessandrini, the famed creator of Forbidden Broadway (the longest-running revue in Off-Broadway history) and the smash spoof Spamilton, the production has choreography by Gerry McIntyre (York's Hallelujah, Baby!) and music direction by Greg Jarrett (Pacific Overtures). The five-member cast features Benjamin Eakeley (She Loves Me), Jovan E'Sean (The Secret Life of Bees), Alex Getlin (Slay It With Music), Justin Keyes (How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying), and Mamie Parris (School of Rock).

The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director; Evans Haile, Executive Director), dedicated to the development of new musicals and rediscovery of musical gems from the past, announces the cast and creative team for the Off-Broadway premiere production of the new musical revue Anything Can Happen in the Theater: The Musical World of Maury Yeston with music and lyrics by Maury Yeston. Performances begin Tuesday, November 26, 2019 for a limited engagement through Sunday, December 29, 2019 at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue). Opening Night is Thursday, December 5 at 6:45 p.m.

New Yiddish Rep invites you to see Lea Kalisch in her cabaret performance, 'In Love with a Dream,' to be presented June 19 to 23 at 9:00 PM each night by New Yiddish Rep at Playroom Theater, 151 West 46th Street, 8 fl.  Kalisch is a dynamic, sexy, multidisciplinary performer originally from Zurich, Switzerland.  The running time is 65 minutes and critics are invited to all performances.

New Yiddish Rep Presents CRAZY MESHUGE HURRICANE EARTHQUAKE


From June 19 to 23, New Yiddish Rep will present 'Crazy Meshuge Hurricane Earthquake' by Amy Coleman, directed by David Mandelbaum, at The Playroom Theater, 151 West 46th Street, 8 fl. This six-character play (portrayed by four actors) is the story of an unlikely connection that develops between a middle aged non-religious Jewish woman and a young Hasidic man struggling with schizophrenia. Hired to be his caretaker, the woman attempts to give him the support he needs, but discovers that her agenda may have more to do with her own needs than his. The play offers important lessons on love and trust.

New Yiddish Rep Presents Lea Kalisch in IN LOVE WITH A DREAM


New Yiddish Rep will present Lea Kalisch (www.leakalisch.com) in the premiere of her new solo show, 'In Love with a Dream,' June 19 to 23 at 9:00 PM at The Playroom Theater, 151 W 46th Street (8th Floor). Kalisch is a dynamic, sexy, multidisciplinary performer originally from Zurich, Switzerland. Her piece is an autobiography in song, rap and comedy: a high-energy reflection on her clash of expectations and real-life experiences.

New Yiddish Rep, in association with The Theater at the 14th Street Y, shared with Broadway World a first look into their new production of Samuel Beckett's masterpiece Waiting for Godot (Vartn Af Godot), translated to Yiddish by Shane Baker, and directed by Ronit Muszkatblit. Currently in previews at The Theater at the 14th Street Y (344 East 14th Street at 1st Avenue, New York, NY 10003) and performing through Sunday, January 27th, 2019. Official opening is Sunday, January 6th at 2:00 P.M.. Waiting for Godot performs in Yiddish with English super-titles.

Eli Rosen Steps Into WAITING FOR GODOT In Yiddish, Replacing Rafael Goldwaser


Eli Rosen has stepped into the role of Vladimir in the New Yiddish Rep, in association with The Theater at the 14th Street Y, production of Waiting for Godot in Yiddish (Vartn Af Godot), translated by Shane Baker, and directed by Ronit Muszkatblit. Rosen replaces previously announced Rafael Goldwaser, who has departed the company due to unforeseen circumstances unrelated to the production.

New Yiddish Rep, in association with The Theater at the 14th Street Y, is pleased to present a fresh new production of Samuel Beckett's masterpiece Waiting for Godot (Vartn Af Godot), translated by Shane Baker, and directed by The 14th Street Y's artistic director of Arts & Culture, Ronit Muszkatblit. Waiting for Godot will perform in Yiddish with English super-titles for a five-week limited engagement from Sunday, December 24th, 2018 through Sunday, January 27th, 2019 at The Theater at the 14th Street Y (344 East 14th Street at 1st Avenue, New York, NY 10003). Official opening is Sunday, January 6th at 2:00 P.M.. 'Beckett's play (which was originally produced in French) may finally have found its mother tongue.' -The New Yorker
