Lifeline Theatre presents a world premiere adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Tale of Two Cities, by ensemble member Christopher M. Walsh, and directed by ensemble member Elise Kauzlaric (Non-Equity Jeff Award nominee for Mariette in Ecstasy). The Reign of Terror sweeps through Paris, destroying both the high and low, and two Londoners are confronted with impossible choices. Will former aristocrat Charles Darnay abandon his family and brave the revolutionary storm to protect an innocent man? And can depressive barrister Sydney Carton find the strength to make the ultimate sacrifice for the unrequited love of his life? Darnay and Carton join a host of unforgettable characters in this passionate tale of soldiers and servants, revolutionaries and the nobility, set against a backdrop of violent social upheaval. Today, the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE), in partnership with the Chicago Office of Tourism and Culture (COTC), announced the Fall 2012 Season at both DCA Theater venues: the DCA Storefront Theater, 66 E. Randolph Street, and the DCA Studio Theater in the Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E. Washington Street.

The Strange Tree Group Presents THE SPIRIT PLAY, Closes 11/6
Filled with magic, mystery and live music, The Strange Tree Group brings Chicago's ghosts to life this Halloween season with The Spirit Play. The world premiere production is written by Emily Schwartz and directed by Jimmy McDermott, who last collaborated on the smash hit show The Three Faces of Doctor Crippen, which won 2011 Joseph Jefferson Awards for Best New Work and Best Director. Presented in association with the DCA Theater, The Spirit Play will close at the DCA Theater's Storefront Theater, 66 E. Randolph St., in the heart of Chicago's downtown theater district, on November 6, 2011.
