Inicia Homenaje Al Artista Juan Soriano Con Billete Conmemorativo De La Lotería Nacional


La Secretaría de Cultura y el Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura (INBAL), a través del Museo de Arte Moderno (MAM), en colaboración con la Coordinación de Memoria Histórica y Cultural de México y la Lotería Nacional para la Asistencia Pública, develaron el billete conmemorativo por el centenario del natalicio del artista jalisciense Juan Soriano. 

El Museo de Arte Moderno celebra 55 años de resguardar y exhibir arte emblemático de México y el mundo


Inaugurado el 20 de septiembre de 1964, el Museo de Arte Moderno (MAM) celebra más de medio siglo de resguardar las obras más destacadas del arte mexicano. El público podrá ver reunidos el emblemático cuadro de Las dos Fridas, piezas surrealistas de los acervos de Remedios Varo e imágenes de Manuel Álvarez Bravo, además de óleos de los llamados Tres grandes: Diego Rivera, David Alfaro Siqueiros y José Clemente Orozco, así como notables piezas de arte abstracto y obras del recién fallecido maestro oaxaqueño Francisco Toledo, entre otros.

Dance Currents Inc. and Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra of Boston Present 'Our Children's Legacy, Music and Dances of Loss and Hope'


Dance Currents Inc. and Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra of Boston are presenting a concert of dance and music, "Our Children's Legacy, Music and Dances of Loss and Hope". Three or four musical pieces will be played live by Pro Arte, Franz Schubert's "Gretchen am Spinnrade", "Six Lyric Pieces by Edvard Grieg", "Piano Quintet in F# minor" by Amy Beach, and, on June 9th, "Vanishing Act for Narrator, Cello and Piano", by Judith Lynn Stillman. The performers for Pro Arte are Liana Zaretsky and Colin Davis, violins, Jean Haig, viola, Steven Laven, cello and Judith Lynn Stillman, piano. The narrator is Genie Ware.

La Directora General del Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura (INBAL), doctora Lucina Jim nez, por acuerdo con la Secretaria de Cultura, licenciada Alejandra Frausto, en cumplimiento con la normatividad vigente, y luego de diversos di logos con comunidades art sticas, da a conocer nuevos nombramientos y confirmaciones de las personas que tendr n la responsabilidad de fortalecer la promoci n nacional e internacional de las compa as art sticas, as como la vocaci n de los 18 espacios muse sticos que dependen del INBAL, con especial nfasis en la recuperaci n del di logo entre el arte moderno y el arte contempor neo mexicano, el manejo de sus colecciones, as como las itinerancias nacionales e internacionales.

American Ballet Theatre Announces 2018 New York Summer Intensive Final Performances


Final performances for American Ballet Theatre's New York Summer Intensive Program are scheduled for Friday, July 27, 2018 at 12:00 P.M. and 2:30 P.M. at Frank Sinatra School of the Arts in Astoria, New York. The performances mark the conclusion of ABT's 23rd annual New York Summer Intensive, a five-week training program for dancers ages 12 to 22. Summer Intensive students will perform selections from ABT's repertory including Coppelia, La Bayadere, Le Corsaire, Paquita, Swan Lake, The Dream and The Sleeping Beauty.

Franklin Performing Arts Company Announces Holiday Events


Franklin Performing Arts Company (FPAC) presents two family-friendly productions to kick off the holiday season. The timeless ballet classic The Nutcracker will be performed on Saturday, December 8, at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday, December 9, at 2 p.m. Humbug!, FPAC's contemporary musical adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, will be staged on Saturday, December 15, at 2:00 and 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday, December 16, at 2 p.m. Both shows will be presented at the Thomas D. Mercer Auditorium, 224 Oak Street, in Franklin.

Franklin Performing Arts Company Announces Cast for THE NUTCRACKER, 12/8-9


The Franklin Performing Arts Company (FPAC) announces casting for the 2012 holiday production of Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker. More than 100 young dancers from 25 area towns will perform in the production. Performances will take place on Saturday, December 8, at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday, December 9, at 2:00 p.m. at the Thomas D. Mercer Auditorium, 224 Oak Street, in Franklin.
