Lionsgate's upcoming feature film and television series adaptations of the best-selling franchise book trilogy THE KINGKILLER CHRONICLE has found its showrunner.

Lin-Manuel Miranda, the creator and star of the smash Broadway musical Hamilton, is partnering with The Kingkiller Chronicle author Pat Rothfuss to serve as creative producer and musical mastermind of feature film and television series adaptations of the best-selling franchise book trilogy.

Digitalspy.com reports that Linkin Park and Evanescence will be among the list of musical artists to be featured on the soundtrack for the upcoming vampire film UNDERWORLD: AWAKENING. Joining them will be The Cure and Lacuna Coil.

UNDERWORLD: AWAKENING is coming to theaters on January 20, 2011 from Screen Gems. The fantasy, horror film was directed by Mans Marlind and Bjorn Stein and stars Kate Beckinsale, Michael Ealy, India Eisley, Sandrine Holt, Robert Lawrenceson, Charles Dance and Stephen Rea.

Hugh Jackman, whose year thus far includes announcements that he'll be returning to Broadway and starring in the upcoming LES MIS film, has also penned a forward to the late Gerald Schoenfeld's memoir. The book, entitled 'Mr. Broadway,' is set for an April 2012 release.
