From author Robert Joseph Foley, who brought readers These Little Poems of Death and after Life: Tales from Lingor High, now comes a stunning collection of short stories woven into a single shocking novel. In The Consequences of Playing God, Foley takes his readers on a wicked journey through four decades of life at fictional Lingor High School.

What's wrong with education in America? There's good and there's evil, and the battle between them is taking its toll on America's youth. Having spent thirty-four years teaching in America's schools, Foley is well qualified to shed light on a system that he views as incompetent and destructive. Drawing on his experiences, The Consequences of Playing God: Tales from Lingor High, offers up a corrosive satire peppered with impossible-to-forget characters and incidents.

At times harrowing and diabolical, at times both moving and hilarious, these outrageous tales highlight the thin line that exists between tragedy and farce. When all is said and done, it is the children who suffer the ramifications of their education. A provocative and compelling book, The Consequences of Playing God: Tales from Lingor High is certain to keep its readers thinking and talking for a long time to come.

The writing of this volume comes on the heels of his first published collection of poetry, These Little Poems of Death and after Life. He is currently working toward production of two completed plays and assembling material for an extensive cycle of humorous sonnets which he plans to publish in the very near future.
