The 1988 premiere of this snappy, fast-paced satire of the film industry in Hollywood introduced pop sensation Madonna in her first theatrical role. Speed-the-Plow was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Play and Best Direction of a Play (Gregory Mosher).Directing Mamet's trademark rapid-fire dialogue is Teri Loretto-Valentik, a familiar face to Ottawa theatre and television audiences.
