JAWS: The Movie: The Musical, presented by Theatre Dynamic, is a new, original musical about the making of a musical based on a movie adapted from the book by Peter Benchley. JAWS: The Movie: The Musical had its world premiere at the 2015 Orlando International Fringe Festival, where it sold out three of its five performances.
Synopsis: Diving into the murky, uncharted waters of creating a brand new musical can be so hazardous, one might feel a little safer in a shark cage. No such luck for Alex, Ben and Chrissie, who are charged to bring to life the next big hit on Broadway. Desperate for ideas and pressed for time, they turn to the only proven trend for success on Broadway: Use a movie! This Wet Dream Team decides to bait and tackle one of the most heartwarming and touching stories ever brought to the screen - JAWS! As they navigate through the murky waters, one thing becomes painstakingly obvious; if they truly hope to bring a Great White Shark to the GreatWhite Way, they're going to need a bigger stage.
JAWS: The Movie: The Musical is coming to Brevard County for only four performances. The shows are August 14, 15, 21, and 22 at 8pm at the Derek Gores Gallery - 587 W.
