The King Center Now Accepting Applications for Summer Musical Theatre Project
The King Center is currently accepting applications for the Summer Musical Theatre Project. This program is available to students entering 9th grade in the fall of 2012, currently enrolled high school students including graduating seniors of the 2011-2012 school year and college freshmen including students entering their sophomore year in the fall of 2012.
The four–week project with experienced professionals will culminate in 3 performances of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s OKLAHOMA! on the King Center Stage! Through special arrangements with R & H Theatricals, N.Y, N.Y. and under the direction of Anastacia Hawkins-Smith, this four week project will focus on skills such as auditioning, acting and stage experience, casting, dance, narration, orchestra and behind the scene support roles. The project also includes chat backs with industry guests and educational studies on Rodgers & Hammerstein and the birth of musical theatre. Eligible BCC students may also receive one college credit.
