Ladies and gents, do you think you know your Tupperware? Well, if you haven't had the pleasure of meeting Dixie, I'd think again.

For the next two weeks, Dixie Longate will be gracing Orlando, home of the Tupperware headquarters, with her presence at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts to give audiences a little education on all things Tupperware, from the things you never knew you could use it for to the history of the first ever Tupperware party.

Think Tupperware parties are a thing of the past? Again, think again. Sure, it is much easier to buy Tupperware online and have it shipped straight to your door, but does it come with kinky jokes and a barrel of laughs? No, I didn't think so. There's no handholding sessions, sing-alongs, or free mints at those online parties, and Dixie makes that clear.

Now, who is Dixie Longate? This "plastic crap" seller mother of 3 comes from Mobile, Alabama and has been touring the country since 2008 after being nominated for a Drama Desk Award for the off-Broadway version of the show. This queen of elevator pitches and crazy marketing became a Tupperware best seller just one year after she began her sales. Played by the mastermind Kris Andersson, Dixie is unlike anyone you've ever known.

If you're sitting in the first few rows or on the stage couches, be prepared to be teased, questioned and slightly tormented. But Dixie does this all in love, because she clearly cares about Tupperware and making sure the audience gets rid of any silly perceptions of the "plastic crap."

I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical after being handed a nametag with my name on it and a number in the corner (later learning it was for raffle purposes) but even I was rolling in laughter with the rest of the audience at Dixie's quick wit, fast-talking, and southern drawl. This truly felt like a party, one that you'll need to leave the kids at home for.

Also of note, there was one moment during the show that made Dixie almost break. Upon asking the audience the question, "What's the main ingredient in salad?" almost everyone replied with "WATER!" The look on her face matched mine, because, Orlando, the last time I checked, lettuce was the main ingredient. Every audience is different, which I'm sure makes this a hoot for Dixie every night.

Another great moment was during the question and answer session, in which one audience member asked, "In a city built by a mouse, does any of your Tupperware fit in?" Without hesitation, Dixie took her dip cups, hooked them onto the side of the matching dip bowl, and turned it into a mouse head. For it being her first time performing in Orlando, her creativity and quick wit were proved strong.

In need a night out to laugh? Come see Dixie at the Dr. Phillip Center's Alexis & Jim Pugh Theater through March 27th. For tickets and more information, visit drphillipscenter.org or dixiestupperwareparty.com.
