Lyric Theatre is delighted to announce that its ThElma Gaylord Academy students will be performing at 9:20am on March 2 at the Oklahoma State Capitol.

"We are very excited that the students of Lyric Theatre's ThElma Gaylord Academy have been asked to perform as part of this event to celebrate Governor Henry's Youth in Arts Month kickoff," says Paula Stover, Executive Director of Lyric Theatre. "Our students are a great example of what arts education can do for our youngest citizens."

This event is sponsored by the Oklahoma Center for Arts Education and will take place on Tuesday, March 2 at the Oklahoma State Capitol 4th floor Rotunda from 9am to 11am. Various guest speakers and performance groups from across the state will come together to support arts education in Oklahoma. The event is free to the public.

The ThElma Gaylord Academy was founded in 2001 as the educational arm of Lyric Theatre and strives to give young people a professional musical theatre training that will benefit them in the future, either by preparing them for theatrical endeavors or simply by helping them build confidence in themselves, forge friendships, and have a great time doing something they enjoy. For more information on the ThElma Gaylord Academy, please call Robert Matson at (405) 524-9310.
