Lyric Theatre's 2011 Season continues with shows at the Civic Center Music Hall beginning with Oliver!, based on the Dickens' novel Oliver Twist, this new production combines heartbreak and triumph, while delighting audiences with outstanding musical theatre gems like "Food, Glorious Food," "I'd Do Anything," "Where is Love?" and "As Long As He Needs Me." Dickens' characters come alive once again through music and dancing for a new generation of theatre-goers to experience in this classic musical tale.

You can't stop the beat on the Civic Center stage with the Tony Award-winning musical, Hairspray. Watch Baltimore's new teen celebrity, Tracy Turnblad, a girl with big hair and an even bigger voice, as she dances her way into everyone's hearts. Enjoy hit tunes like "Mama, I'm a Big Girl Now" and "Welcome to the '60s" as they take Tracy from dancing in her living room to the crazy local TV teen dance show.

In July, come and enjoy the powerful American musical, Ragtime. This portrait of life in turn-of-the-century America is a moving, relevant story for today. Based on E.L Doctorow's distinguished novel, the musical intertwines the stories of three extraordinary families, as they confront history's timeless contradictions of wealth and poverty, freedom and prejudice, hope and despair, and what it means to live in America.

Lyric Theatre is re-inventing the "Singular Sensation" with A Chorus Line in August. This timelessly stunning musical will astonish those who have ever had a dream for the Broadway stage. For 25 dancers, it's the one opportunity to do what they've always wanted -- to have the chance to dance.

Single tickets will be available to purchase starting Monday, May 23rd at 9 a.m., starting as low as $31. Performances are on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights at 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00 p.m. and Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m.
