“Appropriate Behavior” is a brand new play debuting on Off Broadway April 8th – 13th, 2025 performing Tuesday – Saturday at 7pm and Sat & Sun at 3pm at the American Theater of Actors (4th Floor Sargent Theater) – 314 West 54th street, New York, NY When you are pushed to the limit, rational decisions don’t come easy. Deena Moreland, a young promising college student now drop-out (unbeknownst to her extremely dysfunctional family) returns home optimistically with surprise news after a mental breakdown following a social media post that accidentally went viral, only to find a much worse situation then when she left. Having to confront her emotionally debilitating parents, her codependent older brother, and her unevolved friends, how will she find her appropriate place in a world filled with not only people who don’t understand HER, but who don’t understand THEMSELVES? The play explores how being raised in an extremely dysfunctional family can have dire consequences on ones life, and how sometimes we must go to extremes to cope with the hand dealt to us.
American Theater of Actors is at 314 West 54th St 4th Floor, New York, NY.
