One woman’s comedic and cinematic journey about how to not only survive a broken heart, but to thrive AND find love again. A self-assured, content woman’s perfectly crafted real life rom-com world has a head-on collision with a romantic tragedy when her seemingly devoted, happy, Captain Von Trapp of a husband gives her the bad news: He wants to take a marriage vacation…without her. She is 56 and single for the first time in 37 years. Obsessed with rom-coms and romance movies, she attempts to emulate what her favorite leading ladies would do if they got 86’d by their partners, and she insists on a happy ending. Visiting long buried horrors of her childhood, she mashes kitchen table philosophy rants, alongside raw, real, funny, pathetic and humiliating events in her life.
Written and performed by Robyn Bishop-Marin with a special guest appearance by Broadway, Film and TV actor Malcolm Stewart (Bway: Dracula; Film: "Jumanji," "Best in Show;" TV: "The X Files," "Riverdale"). Directed by Matthew Harrison and inspired by the works of storytellers Spalding Gray and David Sedaris.
The runtime is 90 minutes with no intermission.
