Precipice Partners will present the world premiere of "TINY FEATS OF COWARDICE" as part of the 12th annual New York International Fringe Festival - FringeNYC. "TINY FEATS OF COWARDICE" has book and lyrics and is performed by Susan Bernfield, music composed by Rachel Peters, and is directed by Daniella Topol. "TINY FEATS OF COWARDICE" will be performed at The Players Theatre, 115 MacDougal (just south of West 3rd Street. Subway: A, B, C, D, E, F, V to West 4th Street.)

The performance dates for "TINY FEATS OF COWARDICE" will be: Friday, August 8 at 5:00 p.m.; Monday, August 11 at 9:30 p.m.; Thursday, August 14 at 2:45 p.m.; Saturday, August 16 at 3:30 p.m.; and Friday, August 22 at 7:15 p.m.

"TINY FEATS OF COWARDICE" is a one-woman musical about writer/performer Bernfield's lifelong love affair…with worry. What starts off as a catalog of fears (of planes, fire, heights, scuba gear, toasters) soon extends to the less obvious, the more subtle moments in which we find ourselves immobile, hesitant, unable to speak. Ms. Bernfield stands on precipices both real and perceived; doing this show, she throws herself out on one. By exploring fears of all shapes and sizes, but especially the often-contradictory experience of shyness, she demonstrates how fears can hold us back, but also how they make us who we are.

Susan Bernfield and Rachel Peters also collaborated on Stretch (a fantasia), which ran in a critically-acclaimed New Georges production at The Living Theatre in May 2008. In addition to her work as a playwright and solo performer, Ms. Bernfield is the founder and artistic director of New Georges. Ms. Peters' musical Only Children (libretto by Michael R. Jackson) recently premiered on the NYU Mainstage and has appeared at Lincoln Center Directors Lab and Dixon Place. She holds an MFA from NYU's Graduate Musical Theatre Writing program. Daniella Topol recently directed Judith Thompson's Palace of the End for Epic Theatre Ensemble. Her other recent credits include Trista Baldwin's Sand at the Women's Project and Sheila Callaghan's Dead City for New Georges. "TINY FEATS OF COWARDICE" was presented as a work-in-progress at the 2007 Adirondack Theatre Festival in Glens Falls, New York, and has also been presented in development at New York Theatre Workshop and Joe's Pub.

The lighting will be designed by Nicole Pearce (recent credits include The American Dream and The Sandbox at The Cherry Lane, directed by Edward Albee; Beebo Brinker Chronicles at 37 Arts; and U.S. Drag at The Beckett). Johnson Henshaw will serve as assistant director. The three-member band will be Scott Ethier on piano, Dan Shuman on bass, and Cesar Vega on drums.

All tickets will be $15.00. For tickets in New York call: 1-212-279-4488 or Outside New York: 1-888-FringeNYC or visit www.fringenyc.org. Shows start at the announced time and there is no late seating. "TINY FEATS OF COWARDICE" (www.functioningfearful.com) runs ninety minutes without an intermission.
