Adelaide's Windmill Theatre returns to The New Victory Theater (Plop!, New Vic 2012) with Grug, a new puppetry show for the littlest theatergoers and their families. Based on author Ted Prior's hugely popular picture book character about the top of a Burrawang tree that comes to life, Grug features a perceptive, curious and determined protagonist. Presented by The New Victory Theater, Grug will perform in Studio 3A/B in the New 42nd Street Studios, 229 West 42nd Street, from tonight, February 20 through March 17.

Windmill artists are inspired to create modern, relevant theater by the vibrancy, sophistication and inventiveness of young people and the exhilarating challenges they pose. Windmill positions theater for children, young people and families in a dynamic national and international conversation that is defining the future of theater practice. The company's artistic vision has created a unique and distinctive style of theater that makes adventure and creative ingenuity synonymous with the Windmill name.

Grug is directed by Sam Haren, designed by Jonathon Oxlade and composed by DJ TR!P. The cast features Matthew Crook, Hamish Fletcher and Ellen Steele.

Following its run at The New Victory, Grug will tour to Memphis, TN (March 24-26), Nashville, TN (April 1-5), Des Moines, IA (April 8-12), Washington, DC (Kennedy Center, April 22-27), Palm Beach, FL (April 29-May3), Cleveland, OH (May 6-11), and Fayetteville, AR (May 13-18).

Grug is a 45 minute production and recommended for ages 2-5.
