The Flea Theater (Jim Simpson, Artistic Director; Carol Ostrow, Producing Director) is pleased to announce its new Anchor Partner program, a residency initiative for outstanding Off-Off-Broadway
theater companies seeking production space. Starting in Fall 2011, The Flea will both work with and actively seek out Anchor Partners whose work they feel would artistically or institutionally benefit from consistent access to one of The Flea's high-quality, intimately-sized theaters. This pioneering initiative is an effort to respond to a critical need in the performing arts field by increasing performance opportunities for artists and their audiences.

"The Flea would present work 365 days of the year, if possible," notes Producing Director Carol Ostrow. "These partnerships will allow us to present much more exceptional work to many more enthusiastic audiences. It's a true win for the indie theater community."

Suitable Anchor Partners will be established 501(c)(3) theater companies with a proven production record for at least three consecutive years. Demonstrated ability to run a show for a duration
of at least 16 performance also required for Anchor Partner status. Anchor Partners will have access to Flea facilities and consultation with Flea staff members, schedules pending.

Fore more information about the Anchor Partner program or if you are a theater company interested in a residency at The Flea, you are encouraged to contact Ostrow via The Flea Theater's website, www.theflea.org.
