Anthony J. Riccione's THE END OF THE LINE AT THE END Premieres Tonight at Manhattan Rep

By:

The End of the Line at the End - a new one-act play by Anthony J. Piccione - will receive its world premiere tonight, October 19th, and October 22nd at 9pm at Manhattan Repertory Theatre, as part of the New Theatre Celebration, running from October to December 2016.

The End of the Line at the End is a dark comedy about two friends - Mark and Josh - having the argument that has tested friendships for nearly all of modern civilization: Is there a God, or not? While they are trying to reason with each other, Mark is shot during a drive-by shooting. As a result, Mark has a near-death experience, in which he is forced to wait in line with several other people in purgatory, and question his entire worldview.

The play was written by Anthony J. Piccione, whose work has previously been staged at Connecticut venues such as Playhouse on Park, Hole in the Wall Theater, the Windsor Art Center and Windham Theatre Guild. His essays and columns are frequently published at On Stage (www.onstageblog.com). He is a recent graduate of Eastern Connecticut State University, where the play first received a staged reading earlier this year.

The play will be directed by Kristy Chambrelli (2015 Broadway World CT Nominee - Best Director of a Musical Production - Old Maid and the Thief/An Embarrassing Position), and the cast will feature Anthony Castellano as Mark, Michael Calciano as Josh, Moira O'Sullivan as God, Charles S. Lewis as Person in Line 1, Lil Rhee as Person in Line 2 and Emily Turner Marsland as Person in Line 3.

The play will be produced at Manhattan Repertory Theatre, located at 17-19 West 45th Street (in between 5th and 6th Avenue) on the third floor at #301, as part of the New Theatre Celebration, which will mark the opening of Manhattan Repertory Theatre's new venue. Each play included in the event will receive two performances. Tickets cost $20, and can be purchased at the door or at Manhattan Repertory Theatre's official website.
