On Friday, April 16 the Rainbow Troupe will present a staged reading of an hour long theatrical version of THE WIZARD OF OZ. The performance will take place in the Bruno Walter Auditorium in the Library of Performing Arts at Lincoln Center.

The performance will be directed by Stephanie Fittro with musical direction by David Brunetti.
The show is an abridged version of the movie which still has the classic songs of Harold Arlen and E. Y. Harburg such as "Over the Rainbow," "We're Off to See the Wizard," "If I Only Had a Brain," and "Ding Dong the Witch is Dead."

The show was created by Deena Harburg, daughter-in-law of lyricist E. Y. Harburg. This one-hour version will soon be available for licensing or purchase by schools.

Admission to the staged reading is free, but there are only limited seats available. Teachers can reserve seats for themselves and classes by calling 212-343-9668 or emailing nick@yipharburg.com.

Director Stephanie Fittro has appeared on Broadway in LEGALLY BLONDE as well as in the Encores! Concert of HAIR in 2001 and the US Tour of FINIAN'S RAINBOW in 1999.
