RED SKY The Musical Debuts Story One At The Stonewall Inn January 29

RED SKY, a full length musical currently in previews with excerpts being performed for community-based audiences, will debut "Story One" at The Stonewall Inn on January 29th at 7:00 and 9:00 pm. The evening of unity and support for the LGBTQ Community is hosted by Activists Tym Moss and Simply Rob.

A tale of political theatre in a Brechtian style, RED SKY is part nightmare, part reality check and thoroughly of the moment. Its dream space stories center around the protagonist known as "The Young Man in a Black Hoodie," who has lost his brother and his faith.

A cast of troubadours is drawn together to engage and educate him in the consequences of silence and complacency in the face of oppression, and what it means to "Resist."

Story One, entitled "The Death of Dignity and the Birth of a Voice," tells the story of what lies beneath "#MeToo" through the eyes of Charity, a gender non-conforming sex worker in her prime. While many have withered on the vine, this modern day, self-proclaimed "Cinderella" has learned to "water herself."

Written by Cheryl Paley and Chuk Obasi, and directed by Ms. Paley, with material from Joseph Reese Anderson and Fernando Manon, music by Don Rebic and choreography by Kimani Fowlin, RED SKY is supported by November 9thForever, a Coalition of Artist/Activists who have pledged to support social justice issues in their work and combine shows and talkbacks with Social Justice Organizations. The talkbacks will provide audiences with information and ideas regarding how they might engage in the political process.
