QCP Players Will Perform ANNIE KIDS in Inclusive Theater Program's Second Year

Queens Centers for Progress has announced the return of the QCP Players Theater Program for its second year, culminating in performances of Annie Kids on Thursday, June 4, and Friday, June 5, at 11:00 AM at QCP's Adult Center in Jamaica, Queens.

Building on the success of its inaugural season, the QCP Players program continues its partnership with AhHa!Broadway, bringing professional teaching artists together with more than 100 participants from QCP's Day Habilitation program. Through this collaboration, participants explore every aspect of theatrical production—developing performance skills while also contributing behind the scenes in set design, costumes, and concessions.

This year's production, Annie Kids, showcases not only the talent and creativity of QCP participants, but also the confidence and sense of community fostered through the program. Over the course of the program, participants work collaboratively to bring the beloved story to life, gaining hands-on experience in a supportive and inclusive environment.

The QCP Players Theater Program first took the stage in 2025 with a lively production of Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka Kids, where participants transformed into performers, designers, and crew members, delivering a joyful and imaginative show that highlighted the power of inclusive arts programming. That debut marked the beginning of what has quickly become a signature initiative for QCP. Performances drew more than four hundred members of the community to see two shows.

“Now in its second year, the QCP Players program continues to demonstrate how the arts can empower individuals, build confidence, and create meaningful connections,” said Josie Davide, QCP's Director of 164th Street Day Services. “We are incredibly proud of our participants and excited to share their hard work with the community.”

“Working with the inspiring community of QCP is the embodiment of what AhHa!Broadway is all about – why we exist. Witnessing so many performers experience the moment that ‘impossible' transforms into ‘I'm possible' is immeasurably gratifying,” said Heather Edwards, Founder and CEO of AhHa!Broadway.

Performances will take place at the QCP Adult Center at 81-15 164th Street, Jamaica. Admission is free and open to the public. Community members are encouraged to attend and support the performers.
