PTE Presents LITTE RED, 12/4 &11

Phoenix Theatre Ensemble (www.phoenixtheatreensemble.org) a non-profit resident company now in its seventh season, announces that it will present as part of its Phoenix-for-the-Family series a musical version of Little Red Riding Hood titled "Little Red."  The musical, which is suitable for children ages 6 years and up, will be performed on December 4 at 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM and on December 11 at 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM  at the Wild Project on East 3rd Street in New York, NY. 
 
Little Red is not your grandmother's LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD but she'll love it too! Enjoy a new twist on an old favorite complete with vegetarian wolves and a rock star Little Red (in her mind, anyway).  Join Little Red and all the gang in a hilarious, musical romp through the forest of Hoboken!  Complete with music and lyrics from composer Ellen Mandel.  

 Little Red is written by Kathleen Ferman with music and lyrics by Ellen Mandel.  The cast under the direction of Jeremy Williams includes Nora Martinez DeBenedetto as Mother Hood, Paige O'Malley as Little Red, BrIan Morgan as Teen Wolf, Thomas Tyburski as Dad Wolf, Florence Pape as Grand Mother Hood, and David Plotka as Hoboken Deputy Forest Ranger Bill. The stage manager is Donna Gearhardt Healey, Sets by Jeff Duer and Lights by Jay Ryan. Running time is approximately 45 minutes.

All performances will be at THE WILD PROJECT in the heart of New York's East Village at 195 East 3rd Street, the renovated 99-seat "green" theatre with eco-friendly features that include recycled glass tiles, bamboo plywood, low flush toilets, rooftop solar panels and energy-efficient glass windows.
