Sarah, a photo-journalist, just returned from covering the Iraq war after being severely injured by a roadside bomb. Her reporter boyfriend James is swamped by guilt for leaving Sarah alone in Iraq just two weeks before she was nearly killed. When they receive a visit from their friend Richard, Sarah's mentor, and his much younger girlfriend Mandy, Sarah and James find the survival of their relationship tested.
Called "Margulies's finest play since the Pulitzer Prize-winning Dinner With Friends" by the New York Times, TIME STANDS STILL is about two battle-scarred journalists faced with the prospect of living a conventional life.

Donald Margulies (playwright) is an American playwright and a professor of English and Theater Studies at Yale University. In 2000, he received the Pulitzer Prize for Drama for his play Dinner with Friends. He has received grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, the New York Foundation for the Arts, the
John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation and a MacDowell Colony Fellowship. He was playwright-in-residence at the Sundance Playwrights Conference for three summers; Collected Stories was developed there, as was an early version of Sight Unseen. Margulies is an alumnus of
New Dramatists and serves on the council of the
Dramatists Guild of America.
