THE SECRET IN THE WINGS, a dark and mysterious play by Mary Zimmerman, brings lesser-known tales to life through ensemble-driven, playful storytelling. These dark fairytales are an imaginative mash-up of childhood fantasy, hopes, and fears (both real and imagined). With neighborly ogres, sullen princesses, and fraternal swans, Hedgepig probes what frightens us most. (Appropriate for ages 13+.)

THE SECRET IN THE WINGS by Mary Zimmerman is a compilation of seven lesser-known fairytales. In the ensemble spirit, nine actors weave through each tale playing a variety of roles. Emily Lyon, a member of Hedgepig and our resident director, will take the helm after successful Hedgepig runs of A Taste of Shakespeare (August 2017), Women of Williams County by Karly Thomas (October 2016), and Interior: Panic by Tennessee Williams (August 2014). Music by Mary Candler, Artistic Director.
Somie Pak, costume designer, returns to Hedgepig (previous: Women of Williams County) to bring both the illusion and reality of these fairytales to life. Dan Daly, scenic designer, and Dayna Johns, properties designer, transport us to a dusty attic where all dreams are possible.
