A TWITTER PARTY FOR ASSISTANCE AT PLAYWRIGHTS HORIZONS

By Holly Rosen Fink

Did you ever have a boss who made your life a living hell? Do you have memories of being an assistant that will stay with you for the rest of your life? Are they pent up inside you, waiting to be shared with others? Was your experience reminiscent of the movie "Swimming with Sharks"?

If our discussion, which will likely be our most lively and open Twitter conversation yet, doesn't bring all the memories back to you, the new play "Assistance" by Leslye Headland, now playing at Playwright Horizons, will. For the young assistants in the play, life is an endless series of humiliations at the hands of their hellacious boss, a powerful über-magnate. In rare moments of calm when the phone calls stop rolling, Nick and Nora and their traumatized co-workers question whether all their work will lead to success—or just more work.

Sound familiar? We want to hear your stories. Join us for a more than frank conversation about the world of ASSISTANTS, in real life and on stage! We will be giving away a pair of tickets to the show plus drinks at the theater, which runs until March 11th, and other great prizes including TWO copies of the first edition published script (most likely signed!) AND three Playtime! vouchers for free childcare during the show.

We will be joined by fab @mamadramany moderators including Sarah Fader (@osnsmom) who blogs over at www.oldschoolnewschoolmom.com, Kerri Gristina (@savvymomnyc) who blogs over at www.raisingthreesavvyladies.blogspot.com and Rachel Negron (@digital_latina) who blogs over at http://thedigitallatina.com.  We are also thrilled to announce that we will now be joined by Nicole Orisich from a new site http://assistantstellall.com.  She tweets at @assistantstweet.

All you need to do is RSVP today!

Special thanks to our amazing sponsor PLAYTIME!, the first ever child enrichment program providing culture and care for kids while their parents see an Off-Broadway show! To learn more about PLAYTIME, visit them at www.Playtimenyc.org.

Special performances of ASSISTANCE with Playtime! childcare include: Sunday, Feb. 12 @ 2:00pm; Saturday, March 3 @8pm; and Sunday, March 11 @ 2:30pm.
