The Magnet Theatre Presents The Made-Up Musical tonight, Friday April 23 at 10pm. The Made-Up Musical is performed every week. After an interview with an audience member, the cast weaves together a full one-act musical, complete with all the songs, trappings and melodrama you'd expect from a Broadway musical.

The cast of The Made-Up Musical includes Tara Copeland, Jessica Elaina Eason, Leah Gotcsik, Michael Martn, John O'Donnell, Morgan Phillips and Frank Spitznagel.

Tara Coppeland made her way to New York after 18 years in Arkansas via Bryn Mawr College, where she discovered her love for sketch and improv comedy while performing with The Lighted Fools. She can currently be seen at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater with the Harold Team, The Scam. Tara is a member of the group Mother (2001 Cage Match Tournament Champions), who invented the forms The SleepOver and The Soundtrack and the group Ms. Jackson (2004 ECNY Best Improv Group)! Tara has also appeared on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Best Week Ever, and the movie College Road Trip. She performs regularly with Baby Wants Candy and The Made Up Musical. John O'Donnell comes to the Magnet with a Masters Degree in Education and over ten years of teaching experience in New York City. He studied under John Cameron Telfer, all 4 members of UCB, and Magnet's own Armando Diaz. He has appeared in pilots for Comedy Central, the HBO Aspen Comedy Festival, on "Late Night With Conan O'Brien," as well as numerous commercials that have boosted the nation's economy! On stage, he served as a performer, writer, and touring company director for Chicago City Limits, as well as a performer in a variety of UCB shows including ASSSCAT. He has also written and performed a trilogy of one-man shows, O'Donnellogues, Son of O'Donnellogues, and Beneath The Planet of The O'Donnellogues. At the Magnet Theater he has made appearances in Thursday Night Out, The Armando Diaz Experience, and The Tiny Spectacular.

Michael Martin has been performing improv for more than 12 years, starting in Tallahassee with the Whammo Players and then moving on briefly to Dad's Garage Theater of Atlanta. In New York he has performed as a member of the Chicago City Limits National Touring Company, as well as with the CCL resident company. He has improvised in the long running Made Up Musical as well as the Monday Night Musical, Organatron, Ka-Baam, The Ninja, Blackout, Caligula and Chairman Golem. He performs with Lincoln Center's Meet the Artist Series: Improvisation as well as leading improv workshops for Broadway's Schubert Theater. He has taught improv and musical improv at Chicago City Limits and the PIT. Michael has studied with T.J and Dave, Delaney, Billy Merrit, Julie Brister, Victor Varnado, Paul Scheer, Bob Dassie and The Big Gay Sketch Show's Stephen Guarino. Leah Gotcsik is a comedy writer, performer and director. Credits include: The Second City at Sea, Second City Theatricals, Boston's Improv Asylum, iO Chicago's house team Revolver, Baby Wants Candy, and Somebody's in the Doghouse. Her recent indie pilot, Today's Special, screened at the New York Television Festival, and the Chicago Comedy TV Pilot Competition.
