At Hand Theatre Company will present the premiere of Andrea Lepcio's new play One Nation Under, directed by Tye Blue at the Medicine Show Theatre.  The play, which "takes a provocative look at family, race, class, sexuality and our own personal politics" runs Wednesdays through Saturdays at 8:00 pm and Sundays at 3 pm August 9th though August 26.  Tickets are 18.00 for Adults and $10.00 for Veterans and Students.  For reservations call (212) 352-3101.  The theatre is located at 549 W 52nd Street on the 3rd floor at 11th Avenue (above Ensemble Studio Theatre.

One Nation Under is "a combustible new play that asks us to re-examine our relationships and personal politics in these uncertain times.  Conservative Judge Arlene Stanton is making her way to the Supreme Court.  Meanwhile, her rebellious, hacker son heads off to Iraq with a certain military contractor firm.  Arlene, using her position, begins to pull strings to provide special protection for her son.  Her actions inadvertently set off a collision course involving herself, her son, a lesbian law clerk, a charming power player and a struggling black family from the Bronx.  How far will Arlene go to protect her son and what effects will her actions have on those around her?  This thoughtful and high energy new play paints a wild and intense portrait of contemporary America where the political is all too personal.  The show runs 2 hours," state press notes.

Lepcio's plays have been presented at HERE, Chashama, Manhattan Theatre Source, Vital Theatre and Women's Project among others in New York and regionally.  Her screenplay, A September Spring, won the Sloan Award.  Hook & Eye won the Trustus Playwrights Award where it was produced.  She is a member of the Dramatist Guild, NewShoe, New York Theatre Experience Advisory Committee, and Women's Project Playwrights' Lab.  Andrea holds an M.F.A. in Dramatic Writing from Carnegie Mellon University. One Nation Under was developed at The Lark Theatre.

Featured in the cast are Christopher Abbott, J'Nelle Bobb-Semple, Adrienne Hurd, Toks Olagundoye, Peter Reznikoff and Chrystal Stone.
