Kelly Kinsella's WHEN THOUGHTS ATTACK Set for the cell, Beginning Today

the cell: A Twenty First Century Salon, Founding Artistic Director Nancy Manocherian, and Artistic Director Kira Simring, have announced the "terrific and zany" (NYT) Kelly Kinsella's WHEN THOUGHTS ATTACK, directed by Padraic Lillis. WHEN THOUGHTS ATTACK will play a limited engagement at the cell (338 W. 23rd St NYC). Performances begin tonight, Sunday, July 14 and continue through Sunday, September 1. Opening Night is Sunday, July 28 (7 p.m.). Tickets are available at www.thecelltheatre.org.

Kinsella's style is unique, personal yet universal, in the vein of storytellers Lilly Tomlin, David Sedaris and John Leguizamo. Named by Back Stage as one of the top 20 performers on the New York stage, they
said, "slinky and smart...with the aggressive, ruthless humor of many male comics."

WHEN THOUGHTS ATTACK plays the following regular schedule through Sunday, September, 1: Sundays at 7 pm. Kelly Kinsella (Playwright and Performer) most recently premiered her fourth one-person show, How To Do a One Person Show ("There's no question that Kelly Kinsella knows how to do a one person show."- Theatre is Easy) at the tenth annual soloNOVA Arts Festival where she presented When Thoughts Attack ("She's like us, just funnier."- nytheatre.com) last yeaR. Kelly has been performing WTA and teaching The Art Of Solo Performance at universities including SUNY New Paltz and the graduate program at the University of Central Florida. WTA has previously been presented in NYC by the Transport Group at the Duke on 42, the Labrats, ArsNova, Emerging Artists, and The Actors Fund of NY as well as regionally, at Shadowland Theatre and the Palace Theatre in Syracuse. Her one woman show, Kelly Kinsella Live! Under Broadway (Top 20 Performances to Remember-BackstageNY) was selected as part of the 2008 New York International Fringe Festival and was produced at the Upright Citizen's Brigade Theatre (NYC and LA), ArsNova, Joe's Pub, and The Metropolitan Room. Her first one-woman show, Excuse Me, I Appear to Have Misplaced My Soul, was a critic's pick at the Orlando Fringe Festival. Kelly has been employed as an actor by Disney, Nickelodeon, Showtime and was one of the original voices to play multiple characters on Grand Theft Auto. She performs stand up in NYC and Los Angeles at clubs including The Laugh Lounge, Carolines, Flappers and the Ice House.

Padraic Lillis (Director) This season directed Lindsay Joy Murphy's Rise and Fall of a Teenage Cyber Queen for LabRats, solo plays Bully by Lee Kaplan, When Thoughts Attack by Kelly Kinsella, and is currently developing his solo show How To Survive Crack Addiction. He most recently directed and co-wrote Kelly Kinsella's show How To Write a One Person Show which was part of the 10th Annual SoloNOVA Festival. His Off-Broadway directing credits include: Scott Hudson's Sweet Storm with Alchemy Theatre in Association with LAByrinth Theater Company, Michael Puzzo's The Dirty Talk for Spare Change Productions
at Center Stage, New York, A Line in the Sand, Adina Taubman's docudrama based on the school shootings at Columbine. Padraic has worked on Broadway, National Tours, Off-Broadway, Tony Award winning Regional Theaters. He is currently adapting the best selling novel STRANGERS ON A BRIDGE for Palermo Productions. His play Lights Up on the Fade Out was awarded top ten plays of 2011 in Los Angeles, and his play Two Thirds Home is published by Dramatist Play Services, Inc. and his play RONNIE'S MASK was produced in Chicago at the Steppenwolf Performance Garage. He was awarded the Dayton Hudson Distinguished Artist Fellowship to be in residence at Carlton College. He is an adjunct professor with the Department of Dramatic Writing at NYU, a company member of the LAByrinth Theater Company, and a lifelong Yankee fan.
