A set of one-act parables from an award-winning director, a celebrated author, at one of the oldest independent theaters in NY - LIFE & DEATH, JAMES CRAFFORD's THE DEAD OLD LADY FROM NEW JERSEY and THE KILLING OF THE SNOW FOX - will run tonight, February 1, through February 12, 2017 at American Theater of Actors, 314 W 54th St, NYC.

Director Laurie Rae Waugh walks us through two engaging tales about bringing ordinary people face-to-face with death ... concept and reality:

THE DEAD OLD LADY FROM NEW JERSEY offers the story of two down-on-their-luck crooks and the "retirement" caper that goes catastrophic; and THE KILLING OF THE SNOW FOX brings us on a hunting trip with a sensitive animal lover.

JAMES CRAFFORD is a multi-award winning playwright ("Violence," the Gilbert Ancowitz Best Collection of One Act Plays) and screenwriter (his indie film, "Chepachet," won two international film festival awards for best drama). He studied acting with the legendary Stella Adler, who produced his first full-length play and was a guest member of the Actor's Studio Playwright's Unit under Elia Kazan and Harold Clurman.

LAURIE RAE WAUGH's star is rising in indie theatre and film. Her New York premiere of the celebrated play from Australia, ELLEN AND TROY AND ELOISE was nominated for several MITF Awards. She, herself, has won multiple Jean Dalrymple Awards for her stage work (including the premiere of Steve Silver's MIRRORS and THE SPANISH HARLEM STORY) and recent accolades for her work as a co-director and actress on Mr. Silver's indie film, THE WATCHTOWER. Laurie's entrance in the arts was auspicious: she served as stage manager for the Broadway Cares July 4, 1987 performance benefiting STAMP OUT AIDS dedicated to Michael Bennett.
