Inquisitive Productions' 'QUESTIONS OF THE HEART' Plays FRIGID New York, Now thru 3/9

By:

FRIGID New York presents From Inquisitive Productions' "Questions of the Heart: Gay Mormons and The Search for Identity", written by Ben Abbott and directed by Mark Kamie. The production will run today, February 19th - March 9th, 2014.

Ben, a straight Mormon guy caught in the middle between his church and his many close gay friends, attempts to understand the intersection of religious faith and sexual identity by interviewing gay and lesbian Mormons around the country. Ben Abbott plays both interviewer and subjects in this funny, challenging, and poignant one-man show based on actual interviews.

Questions of the Heart is almost certainly the first fringe play ever to have been performed successfully at both a Mormon church and a gay bar.

Ben Abbott is an actor and playwright from San Luis Obispo, California. He studied acting at the Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts (PCPA) in Santa Maria, CA, and received a BA in Theater and Performance Studies from UC Berkeley. Ben has acted in a wide variety of plays and venues, from outdoor Shakespeare festivals to Vaudeville, and the experimental stage at UC Berkeley. Ben began writing and workshopping plays while at PCPA. His first play, Prodigy received its world premiere at the Brelby Theater in Phoenix Arizona. Questions of the Heart is his first solo piece and began life as his honors thesis at UC Berkeley.
