THE ATTIC THEATER COMPANY and TED CAINE are pleased to present the world premiere production of JERICHO, by Academy Award nominee (Ragtime) and Drama Desk award-winning playwright Michael Weller (Moonchildren), directed by artistic director Laura Braza (Where Has Tommy Flowers Gone?). JERICHO will play a four-week limited engagement at The Wild Project (195 E 3rd St, New York, NY 10009). Performances begin Saturday, January 20 and continue through Saturday, February 10, 2018. Based on the play LILIOM by Hungarian master Ferenc Molnár (which inspired Rodgers and Hammerstein's Carousel), JERICHO by award-winning screenwriter and playwright Michael Weller, revolves around the love affair between a scoundrel carousel barker and a maid at a Catholic Young Women's Inn. His confused violent passion and her simple unshakable devotion, form the combustible heart of this dark fairytale for grown-ups. Staying true to Molnár's marginal Budapest, Weller sets JERICHO at Coney Island during the Great Depression of the 1930s; a place and time when work was scarce, and life was a matter of desperate survival.

Featuring Broadway veteran Stephanie Pope* (Pippin, Fosse, Chicago and Chicago National Tours, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Jelly's Last Jam, The Will Rogers Follies, Sweet Charity, Big Deal), Ginna Doyle* (An American Daughter and Orpheus in the Berkshires at Williamstown), Noelle Franco* (Les Liaisons Dangereuses at Center Stage; TV's Blue Bloods), Vasile Fluter (Tamburlaine at Theater for A New Audience), Jerzy Gwiazdowski* (Julie Taymor's Across the Universe), Erinn Holmes* (Disgraced at Fulton Theatre), Jamal James* (Shakespeare In Love at Baltimore Center Stage), Hannah Sloat* (War Horse on Broadway), and Jack Sochet* (Cora and Dave are Getting Older at EST, Word to the Action at The Public; TV's Gotham).
JERICHO is produced by Ted Caine, with scenic and prop design by Julia Noulin-Merat, costume design by Bevin McNally, lighting design by Daniel Chapman, and sound design by Matthew Fischer. Miriam Saltzman is the stage manager, and Mariah Pepper Berkowitz is the assistant stage manager.
