Hip-Hop Sketch Musical Comedy LOCKED UP B*TCHES Comes to The PIT
LOCKED UP B*TCHES is a riotous, raunchy hip-hop sketch musical comedy, loosely based on America's favorite women's prison saga, currently streaming on a Netflix account near you.
Set in B*tchfield Animal Shelter, the show chronicles the ongoing war between canines and felines (the b's and p's, respectively) as they rap their paws off and fight to the death in this dirty, hilarious celebration of the need for community and self-discovery in the midst of a messed up world.
LOCKED UP B*TCHES features book & lyrics by Catya McMullen (EST Youngblood, WE ARE ANIMALS, "AGNES!, 37th Samuel French OOB Short Play Festival Winner for Missed Connection).
The production will be directed and choreographed by Michael Raine (The Flea, Yale Rep), with music direction by Scott Klopfenstein (Reel Big Fish, WE ARE ANIMALS) and lighting design by Nate Fessler. Co-produced by Joey Perniciaro and Will Barnet.
The show features: Brett Aresco, Crystal Arnette, Will Barnet, Jessie Cannizaro, Nick Carrillo, Julissa Contreras, Kera Halbersleben, Alex Haynes, Nick Lawson, Catya McMullen, Juan "Skittlez" Ortiz, Karsten Otto, Ellie Phillips, Desi Waters, and Lady Moody Zia.
LOCKED UP B*TCHES was originally developed at #serials@theflea by Michael Raine and Catya McMullen.
