Full Cast and Creative Team Announced for SATC's BASTARDS OF STRINDBERG, 11/12

Scandinavian American Theater Company presents "BASTARDS OF STRINDBERG", four new, commissioned by SATC, short plays inspired by August Strindberg's "Miss Julie," written by a group of the most exciting contemporary American and Swedish playwrights:

Dominique Morisseau (2012 PoNY Fellow, USA): "High Powered"

David Bar Katz (Tony- & Emmy-nominated Playwright, USA): "Chanting Hymns to Fruitless Moons"

Andreas Boonstra (Artistic Director, moment:teater, Sweden): "The Truth about Miss Julie"

Lina Ekdahl (Award-winning Poet and Playwright, Sweden): "Midsummer at Tyrolen"

2012 is "Strindbergåret," or "The Year of Strindberg," marking the 100-year anniversary of playwright August Strindberg's death. To commemorate our important ancestor, SATC decided to give four incredibly talented American and Swedish playwright the task of writing a new short play each, inspired by Strindberg's most iconic work, "Miss Julie." The world premiere of these four new takes on the world of Jean, Julie and Kristin, is something you won't want to miss.

The show takes place on Monday, November 12, 2012 at 7PM at Victor Borge Hall, Scandinavia House, 58 Park Ave at 38th St. Free. Reservations recommended – email: contact@satcnyc.org.

Directors include Henning Hegland, Alicia House, Onur Karaoglu and Daniel Shea Zimbler. The cast features Vanessa Johansson, Jocelyn Bioh*, Harvey Gardner Moore, Oliver Burns*, Anette Norgaard, Philip Callen*, Lisa Bearpark, Austin Mitchell, Tullan Holmquist, Sarah Silk, Tina Benko*, Ingrid Kullberg-Bendz, Daryl Brown* and Aaron Costa Ganis*.
