Thursday, October 7, 2010 - Last night The Flying Karamazov Brothers at the Minetta Lane Theatre became the first show to present a live interactive online broadcast when a portion of the show known as "The Gamble" was broadcast over the internet.

For "The Gamble" the live Minetta Lane audience is invited to bring objects to the theater for the Karamazovs to keep airborne in a real challenge that ends either with a pie in the face or a standing ovation, making each show a unique experience and sometimes a messy one.

The online broadcast, which will take place for ALL evening performances, features this section of the show and adds an interactive component.  Those watching online can chat live with cast and crew at the theatre AND can bet on whether or not Karamazov Brother Dmitri (Paul Magid) will win the live audience's challenge or not.  Those betting can earn points towards redemption at the show (in exchange for tickets, drinks, t-shirts, and other show merchandise).

This arrangement gives people all over the world a nightly opportunity to watch live New York theatre via their computers, Facebook, or mobile devices.

(Additionally, the show can monetize the online broadcast by selling ads against it, providing a new revenue stream for theater.)

Last night's broadcast may be viewed at: http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/10040942.

A unique blend of music, comedy, dance, theater, and juggling that is sure to dazzle young and old alike, The Flying Karamazov Brothers are New York's favorite multi-faceted new-vaudevillians at the apex of their ambidextrous and alliterative ability.  Come watch the Flying K's as they prove with each performance that chaos and unexpected events in our lives are the best part of being human.
