"El-Gringuito" Written and performed by Éric-Dominique Pérez, Directed by A.B. Lugo, Assistant directed and stage managed by Bobby Baker, and Choreography by Tru Essencia Dance and Wellness, Inc. will be performed as one of the seven shows from TEATRO LA TEA AND CAICEDO Productions as 6th Annual The One Festival.

"El-Gringuito" is a One Man Show written and performed by Éric-Dominique Pérez, it's about a redhead Latino, who explores the ups and downs of finding acceptance in a Latin-community where "you don't look like anyone around you." It's a poignant and hilarious account of growing up looking different while trying to belong within his people. This show will be presented in English, French and Spanish.

The Festival runs from April11, 2011-April 24, 2011.
"El Gringuito" will be performed on the dates; Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at 8:00PM, Sunday, April 17, 2011 at 4:00PM, Thursday, April 21, 2011 at 8:00PM, and Saturday April 23, 2011 at 8:00PM.

Éric-Dominique Pérez (Playwright/Performer) is a proud Nuyorican actor who has worked on stage in Requiem por Yarini, where he was nominated for an ACE award for best supporting Actor. Anna in the Tropics, West Side Story, STRETCH, These Are the Stairs You Got To Watch!, Jekyll & Hyde, Shhh! Don't Wake the Corpse, and in the film The Dragons. Most recently he acted in a true life drama for Telemundo. He has studied at the Raúl Juliá Unit of the Puerto Rico Traveling Theatre, HB Studio, Hunter College and The People's Improv Theater (The PIT).( www.myspace.com/dominiqueperez1446)

A.B. Lugo (Director/Co-Sound Designer) is an actor, playwright, director and poet. His directing credits include The Taking of Miss Janie, Arranged Marriage, The Trip, Tina Does Pérez, Cater?Waiters and numerous readings. As a playwright, his works have been produced in New York, New Jersey, North Carolina and Puerto Rico. Several of his poems were published in the poetry anthology Me No Habla With Acento (edited by Emanuel Xavier) available by Rebel Satori Press and El Museo Del Barrio.

Bobby Baker (Assistant Director/Co-Sound Designer/Stage Manager) has acted, sung and danced in productions of Hair and Skin of Our Teeth with Stage Troupe in Boston, as well as in the outdoor, site-specific musical J.P.?Morgan Saves The Nation with En Garde Arts in New York. He also worked in various television projects for Comedy Central and MTV.

Tru Essencia Dance and Wellness, Inc. (Choreographers), also known as Deena "Snapshot" Clemente and Wanda "Wandeepop" Candelario, were childhood best friends raised in the Hunts Point section of the South Bronx. It was there they developed their dance skills and strong dance culture with their 1980s dance crew Unique Force. They most recently choreographed the hip hop dance section of the Soñadores Productions/Teatro LATEA production of Romeo and Juliet. Today you can find them taking their street knowledge, culture and history into the studios teaching their signature class "Snap, Pop 'n' Rock: Organic NYC-style Hip Hop for Health."
